The end of Parshas Matos discusses the tribes who wished to have their portion of the land on the east bank, instead of with everyone else in Israel. Moshe Rabeinu tells these tribes that if they fight to conquer the rest of the land, then they can go back and settle down. Moshe Rabeinu says, “If you do this, then you will be clean from Hashem and from the Jewish peopleâ€. There are numerous ways to understand the depth and significance of this. It is up to Bnei Yisrael to act in a way that clearly shows their Tzelem Elokim, and therefore, bring Gd’s Presence, Glory and Honor into the world for all to see. |
