Tefillah - Noach - Rising to the Occasion
Speaker:   Hauer, Rabbi Moshe
Series: Weekly Parsha Shiur, 5767: Tefillah
Lecture Details:  In Parshas Bereishis, we discussed the significance of tefillah, necessary in order to re-link heaven and earth and to allow rain to fall. The tefillah of Parshas Noach is different, as it takes place in the re-created world after the flood. Noach built a mizbeach in order to offer korbanos from Hashem, building up from the earth. After the mabul, Hashem is not involved in the earth in the same way as before, and we need to rise up from the mundane, material world in order to sanctify His name and come close to Him.
